What I did this weekend

July 30th, 2007

I totally “did” this Entenmann’s chocolate cake. Looks a lot different now!

I thought the glass of milk visible through the window was “artistic” until I realized the “glass” was a Solo cup, and the “window” a pane of greasy plastic.

It’s weird that I prefer eating these cakes in bite-size horizontal rows, and yet I enjoy attacking another DR fave — corn on the cob — in a vertical-rows, pencil-sharpening-esque method. Seems like it should be the other way around.

Livin’ large!

you are a brave woman. is that milk sitting on your laptop? i’m surprised it hasn’t spilled just by me looking at the picture.

  2. Annie Barrett Says:

That’s milk all right. I am notorious for keeping/spilling food on my computers. In college my roommates teased me mercilessly because I apparently uttered this line: “You guys look, my laptop is the perfect-sized tray for these little bruschettas!”

At first I thought that knife was a lighter. And I was like “I hope she doesn’t get frosting all over her lighter.” I used to really like the Entemans coffee cake that had raspberry and the frosting swirls on it? I don’t know what it was called, but I remember we kept the knife inside the box, so as to take slivers every 20 seconds or so w/o needing to retrieve a utensil again.

These are the kinds of intelligent comments I leave at 2:30 in the morning. I just spelled “intelligent” wrong and had to take another few goes at it.

Oh yes, the Left Utensil is so key in any bakery product situation.

    Might you mean…. these danish(es)?

that’s funny because every time i go to the grocery store, i stand in front of the entenmanns and ponder whether or not i will pick up something to PIG OUT on. the best one is the chocolate fudge cake tho.

As you are an Entenmann’s fan, I’d highly recommend their Strawberry Shortcake. Yellow cake, and a combination of vanilla and strawberry frosting. Quite good, and is outstanding with milk.

while i enjoy your blog, it’s best that we’re not real life friends… your real life processed foods make me thing naughty thoughts.

  8. [Cherry] Ride Says:

Wow, congratulations. That is definitely quite an accomplishment.

Have you “done” any of the Entenmann’s coffee cakes? I’m proud to say I’ve hammered through a few of those in a single sitting before.

  9. Annie Barrett Says:

Cherry, that’s exactly what the link I posted (4 above) shows me doing! But don’t worry, I never click on links people provide, either. I’m serious.

Shain, I don’t even think we’re blog friends. I mean, yoga?

    Robert, I am so in!

Jinners, totally. I stand in front of the giant Entenmann’s display (and there is one in nearly every deli lately, isn’t there?) on a daily basis, just “to think.”

  10. Annie Barrett Says:

Oh and Riese — my mother also e-mailed me and said I THOUGHT THAT WAS A LIGHTER too. What the hell? Your concern is much appreciated. A frosting-ed lighter would be way worse than a lit cake.

Damn, girl! You talk about food 24/7. Get off the subj for a lil’, k?

If you need three exclamation points to prove your disgust… just stop reading.
