Annie Barrett ... when I was interning at Entertainment Weekly

Annie Barrett

Annie Barrett lives in Brooklyn. She thinks this makes her cooler and a little more "soul" than she was when she lived in Manhattan. Too bad Park Slope and the West Village are essentially the same neighborhood... with slightly different policies on how to act superior and alienate people.

Originally from Chicago, a "fake Midwestern city" with an irresistible flavor (of meat), Annie resents dieting, the term "organic," and any sort of moderation in the field of eating. People need to just settle down and try a chemically enhanced snack cake once and a while. Heads up: The time is now!

Diminishing Returns can be considered the elevated or "graduated" version of Annie's old column at Boston College, "That's What You Think." That column, whose acronym appropriately spells out a homonym of "twit," covered such hard-hitting collegiate topics as the worst types of class participators, Snood addiction, and appropriate levels of mayonnaise consumption in a dining hall setting (see list of topics to your right). Annie has succeeded in reaching even lower levels of significance with Diminishing Returns.

Annie is a writer and editor at EW.com.

You can read her published stories here.

Feel free to e-mail Annie at any point with comments, questions, virtual cash, or potential topics. She isn't a great listener, but she can read. That's way more important.
