Turning
twenty-four is about as exciting as only drinking one margarita
on a Sunday afternoon. Thus, I’ve undertaken a campaign to
make my birthday a little brighter than usual. Last year’s
festivities were fun, but this year promises to be better.
The
theme of this year’s party addresses a central concern in
my life: Fleet Week. The bill of fare includes: me in a new outfit
(yachting cap?), several choruses of “Bridge” sung by
a local tab choir, a few sailors fresh off a destroyer, armed only
with chapstick and dance belts, and maybe even Shalita.
